Strati 2023 Lille

Location

Lille, capital of the French Flanders, is located in the northernmost part of France. As a major Flemish city, like the nearby cities of Ghent and Bruges (Belgium), Lille has a complex history as it was the object of quarrel between the Counts of Flanders and the Kings of France over the centuries. Lille also belonged to Austria and Spain, before becoming French in the late 17th century. Lille is therefore ideally located at the major crossroads of north-western Europe. Although Lille has an international airport, it is very convenient to travel to one of the major international airports in Paris (France), Brussels (Belgium), or London (UK). High speed train connections are regular and very practical, with very short travel times to Lille. Hotels and restaurants are available in all price categories, mostly in walking distance from the metro and train stations.
